Testimonial – Careertrac Services Australia

Boeing Aerostructures Australia

Once the decision to shutdown a business is made, the inevitable impact on people and the ripple effect it then has on families increases four fold, as does the responsibility for getting it right.  One risk to consider is, a well-meaning but ultimately superficial or vanilla solution can have the ability to adversely impact the people it is intended to help the most.  We, BAA, were conscious of this from the start.

Partnering early with the Careertrac team meant that our focus on people and transition support was embedded as an integral part of the closure plan from the beginning.

Terry Calbert and the team developed a three phase model for the transition support that met the needs of our business throughout the full closure cycle, however, were also able to adapt and incorporate flexible solutions to address the unique and changing needs of our business and our people on an on call basis.

Terry’s willingness to actively engage with the business, teams and individuals to understand the environment and skills and experience of the workforce meant her and her team were able to engage with empathy and genuine intent. This in turn enabled Careertrac to help allay fears and increase the sense of possibility about new opportunities and change at a time when being positive about the future was a challenge.

As the GM of the Boeing Site closure, I was entirely satisfied with the working relationship we had with Careertrac and believe our partnership and genuine commitment to support enabled us to develop a working model for career transition support that has set the benchmark for best practise.
